We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer (m/f/d) who can take ownership and drive the development of our data offerings within the FinTech domain.

Your Responsibilities:
You will be required to take ownership of our analytical data architecture, refine it continuously and keep it aligned with all stakeholders
You act as the spokesperson for your team and you lead with empathy by creating an environment where all voices are heard and guide the team towards a holistic solution
Work together with the product team to conceptualize data products for us that would act as market differentiators
You will also be a key technical contributor; this is a hands-on role
You will plan technical deliveries and prioritize tasks
You will be required to participate in sales pitches, client calls for presenting concepts, clarifications, provide demos etc.
You will need to keep a pulse on the latest happenings in this fast moving world, and react quickly if there is something new to be learnt and/or actions to be taken

Your Profile:
Completed technical studies or business informatics or information technology training or equivalent proven skills and experience based on many years of professional experience
As a technical contributor, you have successfully delivered data pipelines to production, and have been involved in ensuring their continued reliability during operations
You have been involved in architectural decision making and ideally have bridged the gap between business requirements and technical architecture
Infrastructure and operations do not scare you. Instead, if the need comes you can dig in to find issues and get things functional again
Experience in data processing tools, such as Apache Spark, Flink, Storm, cloud services; SQL; data ingestion tools, such as Apache Kafka and Pulsar; data storage technology, ranging from traditional data lake tools such as HDFS to modern large-scale analytical databases such as Apache Druid, Clickhouse, TimescaleDB; Distributed data querying technology, such as Presto/Trino; and ideally some experience with data visualization tools such as Apache Superset, Tableau, PowerBI
You have either led teams in the past or are keen to do so in your new role; experience with recruitment is an advantage
(Ideally) Experience, or at least working knowledge in the areas of data privacy and regulations (such as GDPR) and data governance technologies
