At the Montanuniversitaet Leoben, the position of a
University professor for the field Energy Geosciences pursuant § 99 (1) UG
at the chair of Petroleum Geology is to be filled at the earliest possible date in the form of a five-year employment contract under private law with the Montanuniversität Leoben in accordance with the Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz) with full employment.
We are looking for a person of international scientific standing with extensive experience in research and teaching in the following areas: Ø CO2 storage (CCS) Ø Nano-geology Ø Underground hydrogen storage Ø Geothermal energy and geological heat storage Ø Natural barrier rocks (seal rocks) Ø Unconventional resources
In teaching, courses on hydro- and petroleum geology and the above-mentioned topics are to be taught in the Bachelor's and Master's programs. Experience in supervising Bachelor's and Master's theses and dissertations is expected. The requirements for employment are a domestic or equivalent foreign university degree corresponding to the position, a relevant doctorate as well as a habilitation or a scientific qualification of equal value. Further requirements are pedagogical and didactic aptitude, leadership skill as well as command of the German and English language. Experience in setting up a working group and in acquiring and carrying out projects with scientific and industrial cooperation partners is of great importance. The application of funded research projects is expected.
The classification and remuneration are in accordance with the collective agreement of the universities in the application group A1. In this classification, the monthly salary according to the collective agreement for full-time employment is € 5,826.50 gross (14 times per year). In case of appropriate qualifications, a higher salary is subject to the appointment negotiations.
The Montanuniversität Leoben aims to increase the proportion of women and therefore explicitly invites qualified women to apply. In the case of equal qualifications, women are given priority.
