Job Description Summary The ViewPoint QA Team has an immediate opening for a Backend Automation Engineer with solid testing experience. The candidate will be responsible for working in a scrum setup with a strong focus to work with developers and build and execute test strategies focusing on the integration and component level testing. The person will work in close coordination with the Test manager, Scrum Teams, and Continuous Test Integration Team in a very international environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:

Work closely with backend engineers to seamlessly integrate testing suits into the development processes
Develop and maintain automated tests for existing projects including integration, system, e2e and system tests.
Work closely with the developers to maintain the testing coverage (Test Pyramid) from the very beginning.
Integrate testing frameworks with CI/CD tools
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Minimum of 5 years of QA Automation Engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience in backend testing, API testing and automation skills.
Experience in Object-Oriented programming languages, specifically Javascript, Typescript and Java.
Experience in one or more scripting languages, preferably Python.
Basic knowledge in Linux and shell scripting is required.
Experience working in Agile environments like Scrum or Kanban.
Experience in any test or defect management tool.
Basic understanding and experience working with AWS and it cloud services.
Experience in SQL for backend testing of databases.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Knowledge of continuous Integration Tools like Jenkins etc.
You are proactive and are comfortable working as an individual contributor.
Since we are an international environment, your English is fluent written and spoken

Desired Characteristics:

Ideally, you have already worked in the medical field
Knowledge of Test and Defect management tools like HP ALM, Polarion, JIRA etc.
Knowledge of databases and ability to use SQL queries
