Job Title: Azure IoT Backend Developer
Location: Germany

About the Company:
Our client is one of the largest shipbuilding businesses in Germany, known for their innovative and cutting-edge approach to ship design and manufacturing. They have recently established an AI Lab to explore the potential of emerging technologies, and are seeking a talented Azure IoT Backend Developer to join their team.

Role Description:
As an Azure IoT Backend Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure for the company’s IoT solutions. You will work closely with the data scientists and software engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable solutions that capture and analyze data from various sensors and devices, as well as develop an IoT/AI platform that will be connected to a number of external data sources & sensor, built on MS Azure IoT Edge.

Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems for IoT solutions using Azure IoT Hub, Azure Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, and other relevant Azure services.
Develop and maintain APIs and microservices that enable seamless communication between devices, sensors, and cloud services.
Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to design and implement data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and analyzing large volumes of data from various sources.
Ensure data security and privacy by implementing appropriate encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.
Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
Stay up-to-date with emerging IoT technologies and trends, and recommend new tools and techniques to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the IoT solutions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining backend systems for IoT solutions.
Proficiency in Azure IoT Hub, Azure Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, and other relevant Azure services.
Experience in developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Python & Java or other relevant programming languages.
Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and analyzing large volumes of data from various sources.
Strong knowledge of data security and privacy best practices, including encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.
Experience in monitoring and optimizing system performance, scalability, and reliability.
Experience with RDBMS – PostgreSQL, MS SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
