Senior Python Backend Engineer (m/f/x)
Full-time (38,5h) for our office in Vienna
As one of the industry leaders in security software products, IKARUS is continuously on track to shape the international IT security landscape. To support our clients to stay safe and to provide the infrastructure for our cloud security software we are looking forward to adding your talent to our team.
Your mission:

Develop solutions by taking a holistic approach to problem-solving – we expect you to understand the business problems, our service architecture, the underlying technologies, infrastructure and take everything into consideration.
Engage in forming requirements, design your implementation, code it, test it, deploy and monitor it – the full SDLC is led by our software engineers. You have full ownership of your code and you have to maintain it in good shape and refactor it when there’s a good opportunity for improvement.
Develop for performance, scale and resilience – your code will run in an uncompromising environment.
Learn from your colleagues and share your knowledge with them. We have to grow as the company grows and mutual honest feedback is one of our most reliable tools.

Languages and frameworks: Python with Connexion / Flask; NodeJS – TypeScript
Databases: MSSQL
Messaging: Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ
Web servers: Nginx
Containerization: Docker
Logs & Monitoring: Grafana, Prometheus
Version control: Git, GitLab
Deployment: Gitlab CI/CD
Documentation: Outline

Your qualifications:

Familiarity with our tech stack both on a theoretical level and on an applied level
Strong knowledge of Python preferably with Connexion / Flask
Rich previous experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ. Protobuf experience is counted as plus
Developed services in a microservice architecture
