The role
We are looking for a passionate Senior Backend Engineer preferably located in Germany or Austria to join our audvice Engineering Team consisting of 6 people including you. You will work closely together with our Backend Engineer, our 2 Frontend Engineers, our Product Lead and QA.
You provide technical leadership to the Backend team, mentor and direct developers
You take ownership of the backend development pipeline and ensure that tasks are delivered on time and in high quality
You work in close cooperation with the Frontend Team and our Product Lead to bring our roadmap to live
You lead technical discussions together with our Senior Frontend Engineer, ensuring clear coding standards, sound technical and visual designs, team alignment, and timely decisions
You determine the feasibility of new features and requirements, always having the usability in mind
You ensure state-of-the-art in our backend stack with a clean, performant, and scalable code base
You investigate new technologies and invent new solutions to existing problems
You drive technical innovation of our products by challenging the status quo
You constantly improve the architecture, performance, and usability of our backend services
Who we're looking for
5+ years of professional experience in software development, architecture design, code reviews and deployments
You have expertise in AWS and infrastructure-as-code. CDK is a plus.
You can provide excellent knowledge on security topics and have the capacity to design resilient distributed systems that are flexible and scalable
You can actively support the sales & product team by going through IT security & data protection screenings and are able to discuss these topics with clients
You are knowledgeable of modern development techniques and processes
You have experience exercising technical leadership in a team, moderating technical discussions, taking decisions and ensuring alignment on standards and designs in a complex technical environment
Great communication skills and fluent English. You are able to present complicated solutions to non-technical audiences in a simple and logical way. German is a plus.
