Location/Division Specific Information

We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen currently, with about 500 employees, whose “high-end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the top tier products globally in their respective markets.

Discover impactful work:

The Frontend Web Developer (m/f/d) will develop new innovative software applications for processing and visualization of scientific data. You will work as part of an international software development team. We are seeking developers with passion for easy to use web applications, UX Design and managing and visualization of large-scale data. You are keen to keep up with current frameworks and APIs. You have proven experience with the development of real-life web applications. Experience with scientific applications is desired but not a must.

A Day in the Life:

As part of our Scrum team, you will design and develop new web frontend applications together with backend developers and scientists providing algorithms and workflows for the processing of mass spectrometry data.
You contribute to our library of shared web components
You implement test procedures and code documentation using best practices
You have a passion using new tools and technology and to develop new ideas and concepts

Keys to Success:

Education

Computer Scientist, Bioinformatician, Scientist.

Experience

Proven experience of developing web and software applications.
Decent experience in developing frontends with frameworks like Vue or React using TypeScript, CSS, HTML5 and corresponding tools.
Clear understanding of pros and cons of SPA, SSR, static pages
Experience with responsive page design
Good experience in writing unit tests for JavaScript/TypeScript components using Jest

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge in natural sciences or mass spectrometry is appreciated.
Good understanding of frontend-backend communication (REST, GraphQL, web sockets) and related web technologies.
Some familiarity with cloud technologies and tools like AWS, Kubernetes, Docker etc. is appreciated
