Olenex Edible Oils BV is one of Wilmar Europe’s joint ventures specialising in the processing of palm and coconut oils in several countries in Europe. It is the Olenex goal to rely on sustainable and fully transparent supply chains, that provides opportunities for rural communities while improving livelihoods.
Wilmar Europe's and Olenex’ headquarters are located at Delftseplein next to the Central Station in Rotterdam.
Due to this expansion of our activities, we are currently looking for a motivated professional:
Compliance Officer
In this position you will ensure Wilmar Europe and Olenex comply with all relevant EU regulations and at same time build trusted relations, help shape policy, and improve reputation and business results through strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and to stay abreast of public policy developments in Europe regarding the company’s product portfolio.
Main responsibilities:
Lead communications with external and internal stakeholders in Europe and Singapore around impacts of policy developments. Develop a view and advise how a.o. Communication and Commercial teams can react and how the company can comply
Take responsibility for internal implementation of the different upcoming regulations, including but not limited to:
a. Deforestation free supply chain (April 2023 into force – implementation 18 months)
b. Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in coming 2 years
c. Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) in 2 years
d. Forced Labour Ban Regulation (FLBR)
Develop and maintain a network, including government engagement, industry associations and NGO relations, to stay abreast public policy developments in Europe, related to Wilmar’s portfolio like; Tropical Oils, Biofuels, Biofuel Feedstocks and Oleochemicals
Participate actively in industry associations as Wilmar’s representative in a bid to influence the design and framework of the various legislative proposals. These include but are not limited to: APAG, Fediol, RSPO, OVID, TFA, UK RoundTable

We are looking for a candidate with:
Master’s degree in a relevant field. Candidates with exceptional previous work experience in a relevant field can be considered with a bachelor’s qualification
At least 8 years of experience in compliance field and or government relations
Speaking/reading/writing fluent English and at least one other major European language
Demonstrated ability to build trusted relations, influence policy and improve reputation and business results through strategic communications and stakeholder engagement
Experience with the agricultural commodities or specifically with the palm plantation sector is preferred
Able to travel
