DESCRIPTION

Are you an agile subject-matter expert? Do you have excellent logic and problem-solving skills and a drive to make a difference? Can you nurture effective collaboration and provide facilitation, leadership, and coaching skills to support the teams developing our software products?

If so, EPAM may have the perfect role for you as we are looking for a Scrum Master to join our team in Geneva working with one of EPAM's prestigious customers.

As a Scrum Master, you will be leading a self-organizing team to deliver business value through development provided by subject matter experts. You will partner with the Product Owner / Tech Team lead (TTL) to support in the product backlog definition, refinement, and prioritizations to feed sprints. Proactively eliminate impediments, coach team members on best practices and run scrum ceremonies. You will work in a global environment with highly distributed teams in different countries and time zones and at different management levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Mentor team members on agile values, practices and processes to help improving the team’s ability to be self-managed and self-organized and to cultivate and foster a #OneTeam mindset
Build connection/trust towards the Team by being transparent and consequent, present and available
Organize and facilitate scrum ceremonies i.e. daily stand-ups, sprint plannings, sprint refinements, sprint reviews and retrospectives
Facilitate discussions, independent decision making, and conflict resolution
Partner with the Product Owner / TTL and team members to learn and practice scrum frameworks
Work with the product owner / TTL to develop release plans, including release dates and scope and to ensure that product backlog is well-groomed, prioritize and has actionable items for the next sprint and the next release
Assist the Product Owner / TTL and proactively identify and resolve impediments to ensure Sprint releases stays on track
Establish, track and communicate agile metrics (such as team velocity and sprint progress / burn down chart) to team stakeholders and management
Shield the team from outside distractions and interferences
REQUIREMENTS
B.Sc. or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field and Scrum Master certification
Proven experience as a Scrum Master on large and global e-Commerce projects
Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 3 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques, User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
Knowledge of the Atlassian Suite, JIRA and Confluence, Bitbucket is a plus
Basic knowledge of Release Management: code branching, code versioning
Good ability to mentor, motivate and inspire a development team
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution
Fluency in English and French are necessary
NICE TO HAVE
Experience as a Project Manager is a plus
Familiarity with Agile at scale such as SAFe is an asset
Knowledge of other Agile approaches such XP and Kanban is a plus
Technical background and/or experience as a Java developer is an asset
