About the role

At Cropster, we are building market-leading Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions to empower businesses throughout the coffee supply chain. Thousands of customers all over the world from farm to cup use our software products to make better coffee.

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will spearhead our efforts in developing automated functional test strategies in an agile environment. Your responsibilities will span creating, maintaining, and executing test suites and test scripts for our web-based applications. You will become part of our small QA team and interact with product managers, frontend and backend developers, UI/UX designers, and technical support specialists to collaboratively maintain and enhance the reliability of our services. In this role, you can utilize your technical skills to analyze and identify issues, propose solutions, and develop and execute test strategies to catch those early on.

The preferred locations for this role are Innsbruck or Vienna.

What you'll do

Be part of one of the product teams and bring in your skills in testing business processes and user flows from an end-user perspective.
Collaborate closely with various stakeholders in a small cross-functional team during the entire product development cycle.
Proactively participate in all aspects of the software testing life cycle, including investigation, analysis, test execution, bug reporting, and documentation.
Create, develop, and maintain automated UI and API tests for our web applications.
Coordinate testing projects and work together with our frontend developers to improve our test processes and concepts.
Collaborate with the infrastructure team to build and maintain test pipelines as part of our CI/CD strategy.

Our technology stack
At Cropster, we develop our software applications with React and Java Spring. We deploy and operate all our applications and infrastructure in AWS. For test automation, we use Selenium, Cucumber, and Playwright. We implement our tests in the Java programming language.

We are looking for someone with

3+ years of experience in software testing or frontend & web development.
Proficiency in software development using the Java programming language.
Good grasp of UI test frameworks such as Cucumber and Selenium, Playwright, Cypress.
A joy for breaking things ;-)
The willingness to work independently and build things from scratch.
Strong communication skills in English.

That said, we’d be particularly delighted to hire someone with

Experience with testing desktop applications.
Knowledge in Javascript.
